The hardest part of any collision repair is not fixing the metal — it is making the paint disappear. A repair only looks right if the new paint matches the rest of your car. Here is how we do it at Hudsonville Body Shop.
1. We start with your factory paint code
Every vehicle has a paint code, usually on a sticker in the door jamb. It is the starting point — but only a starting point.
2. We fine-tune with computer color matching
Paint fades and shifts over time from sun and weather, so the code alone rarely matches an older car exactly. We use computer color matching to dial the formula in to your vehicle’s actual, current color.
3. We spray in a controlled booth
Dust and temperature ruin a finish. We spray in a clean, filtered, temperature-controlled booth so the base and clear coats lay down smooth — no dust, no overspray, no orange peel.
4. We blend into the surrounding panels
Instead of painting a hard edge, we blend the new color into the adjacent panels so there is no visible line between old and new — a continuous, factory-looking finish backed by our lifetime warranty.
